An Associate Planner and the Long Range Planning Division Lead with
Jefferson County's Department of Community Development, Michelle brings
a broad mix of academic training and professional experience. Her
varied and transitive background in marine science, fisheries research,
watershed sustainability, nearshore restoration, eco-tourism, community
education, citizen science, public outreach, and project management has
supported her four years as project manager for the Shoreline Master
Program (SMP) Comprehensive Update. Michelle has welcomed the
opportunity to guide the project towards dual goals of implementing the
community's vision, and achieving legal and legislative compliance. She
dreams of someday knowing personally every inch of the 500+ miles of
shoreline under JCSMP jurisdiction.
