Kate Thompson is a Wetland Banking Specialist with the Department of Ecology. She provides technical assistance to local, state, and federal agencies and the public on wetland mitigation banking, including the new state wetland mitigation bank rule. She participates on the Inter-agency Review Team that reviews and approves proposed wetland mitigation banks. She also evaluates site conditions and progress of approved banks. She received her master’s degree in wetland biology from Michigan State University in 2004. Kate worked with a variety of public and non-profit natural resources organizations in Michigan and Pennsylvania before moving to Washington.
